CuRen, now known as Halide Energy, manufactures cost-effective, high performing, and sustainable copper flow batteries. Their batteries offer independently scalable power and capacity, enabling customised systems for grid-scale and industrial energy needs. The Luova Lämpiö challenge with CuRen focused on helping end customers recognise the potential in copper technology and communicate the importance of sustainable energy storage solutions.

The project case followed Luova Lämpiö's co-initiation and Challenge Lab models. Firstly, a challenge was identified together with CuRen in co-initiation phase. Then the challenge was presented to creative professionals who had answered an open call to attend the Challenge Lab. In the Challenge Lab, creative professionals ideated a project to answer the challenge.  

The chosen project team came up with an interactive video where each answer leads to a different story line. The audio game showcases the benefits of copper flow batteries in an immersive and engaging way

The creative team who took part in the research case were Sonja Korkman (script and voice acting), Jaakko Kulomaa (music and interface) and Jari Lehtinen (implementation).‍
